IYC was founded in 1970 by a group of sailboat racers who wanted to offer the best possible value in a yacht club.  Located in the Alameda Marina on the sunny and calm Oakland / Alameda Estuary, IYC is ideally located for a quick day sail or a warm downwind sail home after a day's thrashing on San Francisco Bay.

IYC is an all volunteer non-profit Yacht Club open to any and all interested in sail or power. Club members enjoy a large Clubhouse with all the amenities and great views of the Alameda/Oakland estuary. IYC is for boaters who seek camaraderie and fellowship without pretense.

RECOMMENDED NEW BYLAWS WERE PASSED BY THE MEMBERSHIP at the September 26 meeting.  You'll find the newly-revised Bylaws published in the print version only of the October issue of Mainsheet..

New Website!
The new site has a cleaner look, and takes advantage of more of the features our Internet hosting provider makes available including interactive Forums! But we need your comments!   If there are things you can't find or you have any ideas to improve the site, please let us know.
